Here’s What’s Hot

Fishing should be good today (see report here)

The dry fly action is sporadic, but if you see a hatch coming off (usually late March Browns) it’ll be awesome. Also, reports of Skwalas coming off in the boulder garden (about 5 miles downstream from us), but I’ve seen no evidence of them up here.

Nymphing is the way to go right now. The go-to setup is a Jumping Jack Flash with a pink San Juan following about 12″ behind. The JJF is a pattern invented here on Rock Creek and only tied locally and it’s truly killer.

Another good choice, however, for Rock Creek has been the Girdle Bug also trailed by a San Juan Worm.
